The Environmental team and Stage 3 Koori Club kids were lucky enough to have a visit from Cathy and Sue from the Blue Mountains Conservation Society. Sue and Cathy taught us identifying features of endemic plants and explained the importance of conserving plants such as the Zieria covenyi which is estimated to only have 270 individuals plants growing out on the Narrow Neck Peninsula. KPS was lucky enough to have received some sapling Zieria covenyi in 2020 from the Blue Mountains Conservation Society which have been planted in Gunar Garung and one of them is about to flower!

We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land upon which we learn and grow, the Darug and Gundungurra People. We would like to acknowledge our gratitude that we share this land today, our sorrow for the costs of that sharing and our hope and belief that we can move to a place of equity, justice and partnership together.
