Department's COVID-smart advice for families

COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses are circulating rapidly in our communities, especially during the colder months. We will continue to follow the Department of Education’s Winter Plan and COVID-smart measures. This is to support our school and communities in minimising the risk of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses transmitting among students, staff and families.

These measures include:

- Staying home when unwell - If your child is unwell, you must keep them at home. If they are displaying COVID-19 symptoms, they should take a COVID-19 test. Your child should only return to school when they are symptom free.

- Vaccinations - All eligible students and staff are strongly encouraged to keep up to date with their vaccinations to protect their health.

- Rapid antigen testing - RATs should be used if your child is displaying COVID-19 symptoms. Students who test positive to COVID-19 are encouraged to notify their school and register their positive test results with Service NSW. Our school has a stock of rapid antigen tests if you need them.

- Cleaning - Children are reminded to wash and sanitise hands, and the school is continuing to receive boosted cleaning of high contact areas such as door handles etc.

- Ventilation & masks - Outside spaces are used where possible, and inside learning spaces have air purifiers. Classroom windows are opened, in conjunction with heating. Students and staff who wish to, are supported to wear masks.

Thank you for your ongoing support, particularly over the cooler months.
